I'm worried...help

I recently broke up with my boyfriend (about 2 weeks ago) because he started using drugs again...coke, oxy's, and pretty much anything he could get his hands on. He was doing really well for a few weeks and not doing any drugs, but something must have happened and he started using again. I was sick of coming second to his drinking, drugs, and partying so I finally decided to end it for good. I know this is the right decision for me because I choose to live my life drug free so I cannot be with someone who constantly battles addiction. I've tried to help him and I've stuck by his side for years, but none of that matters to him. He makes drugs a priority in his life and not me. What I'm having a hard time with is not talking to him...usually when we have broken up in the past or gotten into fights he has always tried to contact me, but not this time. I told him it was over and he has not called me since. He didn't even call me on my birthday which is so out of character for him...even when he's been on drugs in the past. I don't want to be back with him because I've realized after 7 years on and off that it is just never going to work. I'm constantly worrying about him and not hearing from him is killing me...I just need to know that he is doing ok. Anyone else dealing with this? Thanks!

Breathe and pray. Addicts are very resourceful. Sounds like your own recovery is blooming, I applaud you!

It is hard, but doing what is best for us is the best thing, the only thing, we can truly do!

You can assume no news is good news. :-) He's doing what addicts do. Getting high. Putting loved ones second behind the drugs. Nothing has changed. Keep the focus on yourself and you'll get through this a stronger better person.

You have detached from him physcially now you need to detach emotionally. Your worry isn't going to stop him from doing drugs. He is doing what addicts do and if something does happen to him I am sure you will hear about it.

Have you tried any alanon or naranon meetings?
