Looking at another forum on this site they had a long list of songs about addiction, I just wanted to add this one by Rascal Flatts to this forum, it always chokes me up when I hear it, thinking about my son:

I have not heard from him since Saturday, but he does call usually once a week from wherever he's at, I think that he just likes to hear a friendly voice and know that someone out here loves him...the last few times he's called he hasn't asked me for anything, and the conversations are pretty short, but in a way I feel like he just needs that thought, that SOMEONE is a constant for him, if you know what I mean. He must have gotten it through his head that I won't be giving him money, so he hasn't asked, which is a very good thing for both of us. But when I hear this song, I tear up - hey, we can WISH, right?? LOL

Anyway, off to the nursing home to visit my hospice patients - that always brightens my day, and gives me something to focus on :-))
