Fantastic. This could be her time to beat addiction. Hope + faith !!!!!

I'm doing the happy dance for you and for her. What good news this is to read first thing in the morning.

Even rehab brings no guarantees, the real recovery begins when they leave, but it does give them wonderful tools to help them learn to live life on life's terms. I hope this is a turning point for her and that she finds a better path and sticks with it.

Hugs

Fantastic!!!

It should be really nice to not be worried about her so much...she's safe and taken care of.

Hugs and prayers!

What a wonderful Valentine's gift to both you and your sister. I am praying that this will be her time. I know you will be at peace for the next 30 days knowing she is safe and eating.
Enjoy the time and continue to work on you.
Hugs to both of you

Wooo hoooo !

She'll be somewhere safe and warm and dry, with a soft bed and food, and people there who will offer her the recovery tools she needs to get her life in order. This must be a huge relief for you!

NOW - can you do the same for yourself? It's a family disease, a disease of relationships... Is there a meeting nearby where you can go and get the relief you so richly deserve?

I hope this is her time to grab ahold of the gifts she's being offered.

Thank you, everyone!
I told my mom now she can focus on herself again during this time and rest!!
My mom told me she was talking to her higher power and she was answered for my sister to get help!

I asked her to talk to her HP again, but this time put in a few requests for her other daughter. I could use a date! :)

I love my Saturday morning meetings and know I have a great support system anytime I need it! My mom will be joining me tomorrow. It's a speaker meeting and I love hearing more stories of hope and recovery!

I know this isn't the magical answer, but hopefully my sister will learn the tools and use them when she is back home. As for my niece, she knows her mom has to be a way for awhile to get better. She was sad a little bit today and let a few tears fall. My mom told her she was sad, too, but they could color a picture and write my sister a letter. That seemed to help. My sister will have lots of pictures waiting for her. :)

Praying for all of your families tonight, too!

I can relate to your joy and hope for your Sister. My Sister, Linda, who had been in the hospital for six weeks as a result of cirrosis of the liver, was due to go from the medical floor to the rehab unit in the hospital on April 3, 1991. Unfortunately, Linda never made it. She died on April 1, 1991. We buried her on April 3, 1991, the day she was to enter treatment. Hopefully, your Sister has reached her bottom and is now ready to go to any length to get Clean & Sober and begin a new life in Recovery. I continued to use even after watching this disease take Linda, but now, with 2 1/2 years Clean & Sober, I celebrate life each day not only for myself, but also for Linda as well. God Bless and you will all be in my Prayers.

Yes, she did go and was very willing!
Her counselor allowed her to make one quick call to my mom after her first night. I'm not sure how that came to be since they aren't supposed to have contact with family for 2 weeks, but I'm glad to hear she is staying there!
My sister said she really likes her counselor and is happy for the first time in a long time. She feels this place is right where she needs to be.

One day at a time!
