Ever think it strange that very rich are attracted to this philosophy?
I think one of the draws is the self promotion and promotions period, meaning if they like you ($$) and you spread the word ($$) you are a higher member of the church.
Do these celebs REALLY believe they're closer to God?

I think I contacted Narcanon way back when I was deperate to help my son. The woman on the phone suggested I send him to California for treatment (at a whopper of a bill)
When I told her I couldn't, she suggested I give him deep muscle massages daily after steaming him in the shower to rid him of toxins. :wtf2

I realized then I had called a nuthouse.

California, massages and steam rooms? AS was ready to pack lol

Their founder was a Sci-Fi author and I believe at the top of their ladder they believe a space ship is coming for them all!

I wonder as someone did above, IF they can CURE or STOP addicitions, why dont' they????

Oh, yea, and when L Ron Hubbard, the writer and founder of Scientology died,
he was ON PSYCH MEDS!!! :rof

What a bunch of freakin' nuts!!!

Sorry, I too, am very respectful of different faiths.
I don't consider it a "faith" when you have to pay megabucks to be "saved" though!
Yea, only the rich can be saved in Scientology...

Shalom!

When you locked in a room, and your keys are taken from you, and driven to an ATM to get money, I don't take that as a faith either. I take that as a cult. They freak me out.

at the top of the "ladder", theres a BIGGER cash register,

plus, they have a file of all of your secrets that you wouldnt want people to know, they started that in the second course

then they sell you a few "bridges"...

and an optional time machine. Those really compliment superpowers well, im told.

if you dont have that much money left they send you to sea... to work for your supper... or maybe just bleed your business, or exploit your talents... it really becomes blackmail.... and isolation and brainwashing

i think that they currently beleive that when they hit a critical mass of people on the "bridges", all of everyones problems will be solved... meanwhile there are millions of victims to care for...

i think that they currently believe that when they have a critical mass - enough people on the "bridges" -that all of the worlds problems will be solved, and xenu the alien will appologise... meanwhile there are millions of "victim souls to care for... i forget what they call us all... by that time youre mind is mud and youre already fixing the whole world

please dont let us down, tom cruise... (sorry buddy, its sad... there blackmailing a-holes...)

The only thing they ever cured was a ham.

I worked for a chiropractor who claimed the ability to cure people of things like high blood pressure and even bedwetting. The way he explained how it worked made so much sense that you just believed him. That is unless you were a trained medical person and knew it was all BS. I watched him treat a patient for a while that always complained of tiredness, and the "doctor" claimed he could cure that too. Well, that man quit coming to the office. I ran into him at the mall and asked him how he was. He told me he had leukemia and that's why he was so tired.
If he had continued to listen to this "doctor", he would be dead, not cured.

So, while not all chiropractors are so brazen to make such claims to cures, there are those who do, and do more harm than good in every way.

Scientology is the same way. The book is a fascinating read! It all sounds so real and so right. This doesn't make Hubbards beliefs correct.

And another thing about these types of groups is how I take offense to them using the word "church". They should call their "worship" places something else!!

I learned a long time ago that Grapenuts are neither grapes nor nuts.
Scientology as a word would suggest it is the study of science! They are not scientists. So, there's your first clue that something isn't right.

Sadly, just like Jim Jones and the Heaven's Gate people are looking for something to belong to and don't realize until it's too late that what they're into.
Death from religion? I don't need that, I have enough problems already!!

Here's the thing;

Scientology built a bunch of rehabs for drug addiction - they are called Narcanon Facilities (not to be confused with naranon, the legitimate 12 step program). these Narcanon places claim high success rates and what they are is a front for scientology. They gradually brainwash the addicts to cut themselves from their families and friends and joint the organization.

I came close to unknowingly sending my AD to one of them. the place was listed on a legitimate website of Rehab facilities. I sent an email inquiry and the admissions office kept calling for weeks (I somehow remembered hearing something fishy about Narcanon and did a little research....so didn't answer the phone.).

Here is a great link about Narconon:
Narconon Exposed

and
The Narconon Scam

and my personal favorite:
Rick A. Ross Institute:Scientology

These are dangerous places, not just mentally but physically as well. I'm glad you did some research and I"m sure your AD is even more thankful.

I am not sure we can, Done... they used to advertise on this site. Like Sleepygoat, I nearly fell for their BS... then found one of those anti-Scientology sites and backed off - fast! Preying on vulnerable folks like addicts and their families is just evil.

Ok - now THAT made me laugh!

Their corporate agenda is quite forward about eliminating all psychiatry, as well...

good thing they ofer those superpowers as a replacement... :rof
