I need to join you all
Thanks for joining us, Bonnie. You are right, there is a super group of people here. And I am so glad you found some meetings closer to home. I found the meeting I want to go to and will be attending my first Alanon meeting next Tuesday. I did go to a family group meeting this past Wednesday at my ABF's rehab. As much as SR is WONDERFUL, sometimes just physically being in the same room as other people who are going through this just gives a little boost of strength.

Hi, Bonnie. Another mother with a 26 yo addicted son.
Just wanted to welcome you into the fold.
My son lives with a gf and is under a doctor's care for bi-polar disorder.
Recently, I told him, that I wish I could just shake him until he "snaps" out of his way of thinking. Not gonna happen. I try to step outta God's way and let things happen the way they need to happen for him. Cause I know in my heart that I can't cure him. Your doing the right thing by learning about detaching, enabling, and codependency. It's a long, hard, road for us moms.
I'm glad you decided you needed to climb aboard a "bandwagon".
It's a win-win decision. Keep coming back.
Hugs from one mom to another,
Linda
