Book Recommend...
Christmas shopping recently, I wound up in the self improvement
section of the book store. No duh, I work there. lol
Anyway, I picked up a xmas gift just for me.
It's called, "It's So Hard to Love You", by Bill Klatte and Kate Thompson.
I have been looking for a book like this my whole adult life. lol
This book has everything.
Chapter 1-Troubled Lives
Chapter 2-What's Going On with Me?
Chapter 3-Understanding Your Troublesome Loved One
Chapter 4-Let Go with Love
Chapter 5-Communicating with Your Troublesome Loved One
Chapter 6-The Choices Are Yours
Chapter 7-Family and Friends
Chapter 8-Boundries, Negotiations, and Contracts
Chapter 9-"Me" Is Not a Four-Letter Word
Chapter 10-Growing Forward
I am amazed at how much I am learning about myself, my codependency issues, my son. Heck, even my relationships with in-laws and immediate family members. You all have to read this book.
The authors are brother and sister. He is a psychotherapist and she is a writer, educator, and life skills coach.
Uh, yeah. My son could definitely benefit from learning some useful life skills.
It's not just a book. It's a workbook and it really makes you think.
I highly recommend it to my fellow codies.
Happy reading.
Love to all,
P.S. If anyone else knows of a great recovery book for codies, please add your recommend/s. I'm sure the newcomers could really use them and even the oldtimers can learn things they've never known before.
