Have you heard of I-Doser???

Have you heard of this?? Yet another way for our loved ones to scramble their brains. There was an article in our paper about it this morning...

"I-Doser is an application which claims to use binaural beats in order to simulate the effect of various drugs.[citation needed] Users can purchase DRG "doses" of their choice from the online store. The I-Doser application then plays "dose" files which attempts to create the effects of the chosen drug. Its effects are varied, and the length of the effects depend on your state of mind when the dose is administered and the type of dose.[citation needed] The website recommends that you be in a relaxed and quiet state before administering an I-Dose.

It has been proven that the human brain emits cerebral waves, and depending on the frequency, the perception of the environment around us changes.[citation needed] The effects of the "I-dose" are claimed to resemble recreational drugs such as Marijuana and Alcohol.[citation needed]

The user can take various doses in a wide variety of categories ranging from stimulants, anti-depressants, recreational drugs, and hallucinogens. The effects and potency of the doses range from moderate to very strong, or even unexplainable, the latter being advised for only the experienced user."

What will they think of next? At first I was outraged that a company would/could market this, but then I realized it's a free enterprise. Companies can market cigarettes and alcohol, prescription medications. It's up to the consumer to make good choices and use them responsibly.

STILL... it bugs me.

How crazy!!!

Not only that a company would market this - but someone had to "create" this type of thing!! Who even thinks about that kinda stuff? (I know the answer to that question.)

What will the world come up with next?

This is something a person downloads from the internet in the same manner you would download a song or music file. They interviewed local college kids and also some specialists. It's just one more thing for me to add to the list of things over which I am powerless....

Its just various sounds that are supposed to induce specific brainwaves. I used something similar only it was marketed as a meditation aid.
Its just a gimmick.

I sort of figured as much. Just another way to make money at someone elses expense........and if they are reaching out to an addictive population we all know they will try anything to achieve a high.

((((CPJs))))

I went and checked out the site I Doser for myself. I have been reading and experimenting with binary beats for a couple of years. I believe it could be of help to people with addiction problems although the company does not claim that it helps. However they do produce a dose that is for helping people quit smoking.

They have to cover their butts ya know. Also we have to realize that there is reason to there not being more help for addiction the main reason is $$MONEY$$$. I have been reading a lot about the drug trade and I don't find it too hard to believe that if everyone stopped using illegal drugs it would change our economic situation in this country. A figure I saw on the dollar amount in the USA for illegal drug sales is some where around $400 billion dollars per year...and growing. This really upsets me that money is more important than people.

I would be open to letting my H download a cocaine dose if he wanted to just to see if it helped him. I would rather pay 4 dollars on my cc than see him go off on a $500. binge...which by the way I think he has gone several months without using but, I also know it probably does have something to do with him not working or being able to drive...but still it is good to not have that stuff in my face.. not throwing up any pink clouds though...
