Thanks you all. I appreciate all your thoughts and prayers.
I had to work today and told him last night to call me tonight if he could.
He called from gf's phone and said they released him with enough seraquil?(something to help him sleep)
to get him to October 2nd. When he has an appointment with a "real" psychiatrist.
Then, they will decide what medication he needs. Plus, if he's willing to do it, counseling sessions. I can only pray. He also says he has a cold and no cold medicine. I told him to drink hot tea and that I can't drive an hour out there to bring him cold medicine. He's just gonna have to suck it up. I guess that's it for now. I really didn't expect a miracle, but I did think that they would keep him at least 48 hours for observation. He sounded tired, so I guess he's gonna sleep till October 2nd. I don't know what he's gonna do, but I'm steppin' back and lettin' him handle it.
I'm too tired. Thanks again for being here for me.
Love,
Linda

Linda,
My daughter takes seroquil for bi polar. It does make her tired, but it really helps with the mood swings. Maybe if he gets on the right kind of med and the right doses he'll see improvement. They started her out on too much seroquil so she cut it back and feels just right with it now. Still a little sleepy but better.
You should be proud of yourself for staying out of it, I know how hard that is to do.
Take care, hugs.........Lo

Its an important step for him to go get help himself. I know the relief you must feel.
If the doctor can diagnose him, he can get the RIGHT medication he needs.
I am just so glad to hear that someone took a step in the direction of getting help for themself.
Hugs to you.

I wouldn't be satisfied with October 2nd, especially since he admitted himself to the ER. That's almost 3 weeks away!
I just saw Sicko, and if this were any other country, he would have faster help than this. But that is neither here, nor there.
Keep up your spirits Linda.

I hope that you're son continues to recover. It all sounds promising. A guy thast I work with is on Seroquel and he does very well with it.
Growing up is hard to do.
Let Go and Let God.

I am glad he is seeking help....
the medication he is on can help with mood swings etc....
hoping he leaves the cold medication alone and sticks with hot tea...
those over the counter cold meds can be toxic...
especially since he's just starting this new medication....
amazing how our addicts react to any discomfit....
every ache, pain, sneeze, cough, bad mood etc must be ended asap with a pill!!
(forgive me as I vent!...)
