Interesting Article I found today...

Great article.
Although I personally think about addiction as more of a disorder than a disease (schizophrenia, for example, is not a disease) (and most diseases can be cured, while addiction cannot) (and it would simply break my heart to think of it as a terminal disease) it's always good to reexamine how we think and talk about it. Compassion and understanding go a long way toward supporting all of the people trapped in this horrible web.

Well, after reading it, it's the same question I have asked from both sides of the fence.
I have come to my own conclusion: Addiction is a disease of the mind that manifests itself in behaviors, and in physical symptoms. IT's the only way I could come to terms with the idea of it being a disease.
The word disease always implys the physical. But there are many mental diseases.
Addiction is just another one.
Thats my 2 cents.
