I guess this is recovery

To make a story short, I wanted to go to my parents last week-end and finally my RAH was sick and stayed at home. Last time, he stayed home alone he was in active addiction and when I came back all the electronics were at the pawn shop. I though I would be a basket case all week-end, but I told myself the thing that are the most important to me were with me ( my son and daughter).

Finally, I enjoyed the week-end, didn't even though about him being alone at home. Finally I came back and all my electronics are still here. It looks like he has been clean.

I'm so proud of me, because not that long ago I would have cancelled because I would have been afraid to let him stay by himself. I guess after all these year I start to let it go. It feel really good.

wow! That's awesome. I know what a big deal that is - not only to go but to focus on you and the kids. You are an inspiration....I am going up to the lake on Saturday and will stay until Wednesday with the kids. RAH will have the house to himself. I am already focusing on our time together and not my fears - all that false evidence appearing real.

Thanks for sharing! Donna

Good for you ! It's an awesome sign of recovery in action when you can let go of the What If's and just enjoy yourself.

Like hope said, keep taking care of yourself. It's a gift to you and your children.

Hugs

Those seemingly "little" victories are what helped move me along in my recovery. By hanging onto those small things, I was able to "grow" my recovery. My prayers are that yours continues to shine!

Excellent good, LittleLioness!! (((Hugs)))
