Smile Just checking in with a bit of good news...

Ras has made it 60 days today She was so cute... showing off her key chain that they gave her at her meeting. It's hard to believe she has been out of rehab for three weeks already!

BTW, Matt's parents put us in a hotel for the next two weeks. I have no idea what will happen at the end of the two weeks, I guess it just kinda depends on where we are with closing on the house by then... but for the next 12 nights I don't have to worry about it. I think the weekly rate here is $350, so if we are stuck here an extra week, it's not the end of the world.

And I think I have a better idea of what I'm looking for in a car now... and I have seen several online that are actually in my price range. So, things are looking up in that department. I might not have my own vehicle in time to go back to school on Monday, but at least I have my dad's van to borrow in the meantime. I just hate borrowing from my parents like that... (and I'll be completely honest; I HATE driving minivans- I'm used to a little 2-door escort, and all of a sudden I'm supposed to get used to this tank? lol...)

So, is there more of a sense of normalcy in my life just yet? Not exactly... but at least the move is over with (for now), and if I happen to find a car that I like that's in my price range before Monday, I'm in even better shape.

Thanks to everyone who prayed for me after my last thread. Your prayers were definitely heard... I can't say much more about it without sounding like a complete dunce, but let's just say that there was almost a huge fire in my apartment the night before the move... and something very unlikely kept it from happening.

Anyways, I hope everyone is well... I'll try to be on here as often as I can, but since we are in a hotel room and I don't have an extra room to go to while Matt is asleep, I might not be here much because I don't want to keep him awake (he has to be at work at 3 a.m. on a regular basis...)

Thanks again, and I can't wait for things to settle down just a bit more!

*hugs and prayers*

Life works out, life goes on and as it does all our needs are met.

Your post is an inspiration to me and anyone who is going through any kind of "transition". Sometimes we need to do our part and then just show up and let life happen. There are often beautiful gifts that come with obstacles and disruption in our lives, and it seems you have found many already.

Thank you for sharing your light and your progress with all of us.

Hugs

Congrats on your sister's 60 days. Tell her that we are all pulling for her here and keeping her in our prayers. Hope that you find something soon as far as a car. But it seems that things are and will work out for you and Matt. Hugs and continued prayers, Marle

I want to add my congrats and happiness for all that is going on in your world. \That is all really great and it's wonderful that you are sharing all of this with us.

Good luck on your car - I just went through the same over the last 2 weeks...not a minivan person myself and I have six people to haul around! I went on cars.com and found my car! I also found some web sites about how to haggle! It helped to know the market....got quite a deal!

I'm happy for your AS's 60 days! It's a wonderful thing when you see it recovery happens!

Love, Donna

Good news... I found my car today! It was actually one that I was referring to last night when I said that there were several in my price range. I had emailed several dealers about cars I had seen on their websites. Kinda funny... this one actually jumped out at me at the time. And this morning, as I was on my way to see my ras and parents, I was thinking to myself, "I sure do wish that this car was available." No sooner had I finished pondering it than did my phone ring. It was none other than the salesman referring to that very vehicle. And, it was actually a thousand dollars less than the price listed online

I really feel like God was looking out for me on this one... all of my frustrations yesterday in the hunt for the car were simply God's way of telling me to keep trying, that I had simply not found the right one yet.

Here's the details: it's a 2000 Mercury Sable Wagon with a flawless paint job, tons of awesome options and only 37,000 miles. Here's the best part: I was looking to stay below $7,000, and after taxes and everything, the car was $6800. I realize it's a seven year old vehicle, but for it to have that small amount of miles on it (and this is accurate; I've seen the carfax), it's basically a brand new car for a fraction of the price. I feel like I just won the lottery lol... and I know wagons are not exactly popular, but with me being a literature teacher, I'll have tons of stuff to cart around, and this gives me plenty of trunk space.

I cannot thank everyone enough for the continued support. As was said in this thread, sr prayers are very powerful. It shows.

Also, I told my sister that I have several friends who are proud of her, and I wish you each could have been there to see how her eyes sparkled when she got that information. She is very thankful to have all the prayers and support that she can get.

More great news...terrific! To my way of thinking a 7 year old car that is just a baby milage wise is much better than a 2 year old with heavy milage...Sure sounds like you and your HP have been working well together. Prayers that all continues to be positive for you and your sister! Hugs
