Day 8 and I think I'm over the hump...
That hump of craving a cigarette every time I feel the least little bit of stress. lol
I woke up pumped again today. It's like, "OMG. I'm actually feeling good about this."
Plus, I have always had trouble with hearing in my right ear. Huh? lol
Yeah. I've even gone to doctor a few times to have them flushed. Doesn't work real well.
Now, for the last few weeks, I've been taking an over the counter sinus tablet.
Sudafed. For Decongestion.
That, added to the fact that I haven't been smoking...and I can almost hear out of my right ear again.
It's been a good 2 years since I could hear clearly from it. So, when I woke this morning to actual sound going into that ear....WOW! It's a miracle.
I have so much smoke free things to look forward to.
Gimme a kiss, cause gosh darn-it! I am 100% kissable....
Thanks for the love and support of my fellow codsters.
Prayers, and hugs,
Linda

Keep it up! You're an inspiration to me. I did quit for 20 days a few months ago when I got the flu. I hate myself for picking them up again. I had it made. I felt like a new person!
Now, I am struggling to quit again.
I will keep up with your posts and gain momentum on my own quit.

I decided to bump this back up to the top. After watching "How it's made" on TV, I Googled "How cigarettes are made" and found a really interesting web article that talks about how they add substances (even sugar!) and manipulate the tobacco so that cigarettes are even more addictive than they would be normally! I know I can't post a link here, but just Google that and check it out.

Thanks for the Tropikgal.
On day 15. This one was a rough one. I am using the Nicoderm Patch and started out on step 1. I notice that once in a while when I put the patch on, I will get overly warm and sick to my stomach. I hate it. I'm almost tempted to skip the next 4 weeks of step 1 (21 mg.) and go right to step 2. (14 mg.) Maybe step one is too strong for me.
All I know is I smoked for 30 years and I needed something, anything, to help keep me focused on quitting. I tried to go to the support website for nicoderm and the dang thing is outta whack. Maybe these things are just as poisonous as a cigarette?
I don't know.
I feel like I have to constantly have something in my mouth. Hubby has a smart a$$ solution for that, he says. Gawd! No offense, anyone.
Anyway, I'm using alot of gum, hard candy, and twizzlers.
Makin' my mouth happy, ya know?
Thanks for the support everyone. It means the world to me.
Tug, I miss you like the dickens. How's that grandbaby doin'?
I'm always praying for you and your family. I miss our Dunkin Donut dates. lol
Say that 3 times really fast. Go on, try it. lol
I love ya and miss Pennsylvania alot.
I think since I moved back to Kentucky I've acquired a 6th sense. Instead of dead people, though, I see dumb people. Alot of'em. lol
Nah! Just kidding. They just real nice southerners who are "looking for a blue book, about this big, with about 300 pages, and it's about a murder or somethin'.
The guy who wrote it is named John." lol
Sorry. I couldn't help that. I love Kentucky. It's the tobacco state.
When you hit puberty, they give ya a free carton of cigarettes to get ya started.
Alright, already. All joking aside. I'm just glad I can still keep my sense of humor while doin' without nicotine.
I love you all. Thanks for readin'.
Love,
Linda
