She's still really upset, but I told her to ask the doctor if we could keep it and have a funeral for it. Atleast that made her laugh. Then I had a fight with one of the nurses. She got all up in my face and I told her off. Very strange, because it just seemed like she was looking for a fight. The whole thing was just bizarre.
Anyhow, she's going into surgery tomorrow. The doctor said he really doesn't know what he's going to do until he gets in there. Great, she could wake up with no foot for all we know.
The whole thing with her losing a limb is freightening because if she did, she'd be completely immobile. Her hands are completely crippled and she needs to have her shoulders replaced. So, she wouldn't be able to lift herself up and certainly cannot hop around. I just couldn't imagine that. I mean, she's only 52. And I know it would just kill her to live out the rest of her life in a wheelchair with people helping her with everything!
Thanks everyone for the prayers. She'll be going in sometime tomorrow and then we'll continue to have to wait to see what else will come along!

So young and such a sad thing for her and all of you. I will continue to lift you up in prayer and keep you in my thoughts. I hope you can get some rest tonight and let God take care of things.

Everything went well today. They reopened the wound and cleaned it out again. They didn't have to cut off anything.... thank goodness. The Dr. said that the cultures came back negative, so he just cleaned out all the infectious material that he could find and pump in antibiotics in place of it. They have her quaranteened (sp?) right now. So, now one can be near her.

(((((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))) Your a good daughter..the Lord will bless you for standing by and loving your mom. Praying for you and yours...and things surely seem the worst before something wonderful happens...Just remember God loves you.

So far so good! She's on some medication that may have some adverse side effects. If all the tests come back well, she should be on her way home soon. If not, they'll be doing surgery again on Sunday!

(((NGU))) Sorry to be late on this, but your mom is just a spring chickie!! Please let her know she is in my prayers, too.... and that this is one of those "time limited" things... bound to get better eventually.
