I hear you, honey, and know exactly where you're coming from...I lived there for twenty years!
Keep strong!

I used to think weed didn't really do much to people except make them silly.
But now I know it makes people compeltely unmotivated to do anything. It makes people lazy.
I hate it too, and all the stuff that comes after it.

There was a whole thread on here about pot a few weeks back, Classy. You might want to read through it, because it's helpful to know how many people feel the way we do about pot.
To me it's just like drinking. Some people can handle it, to some people it sucks their life away.

YEah, I agree with WW about weed. It's not physically addictive but it is mentally. Some people that smoke weed only smoke it on occasion, but I know people who are day-long smokers when they aren't at work. Smoking weed DOES take away one's initiative and motivation. I know 'cause I smoked my fair share back in the 70's! but then I got busy with life (college, work, etc.) and quit. Some people just don't want to I guess. It's not like some addicitve drugs where they physically can't. THe most you get is a headache for a couple of days, kind of like caffeine withdrawal. Whoopedy-doo.

I'm glad you have a place to vent and certainly understand your feelings.
From all I have read, I think withdrawl from pot can be difficult...I've heard it takes over a month to just get out of the system, never mind coping with all the addictive issues. The other scary part to me is that pot is so often laced with other things and who knows what a person is smoking. Addiction is addiction in my book and its impact on loved ones is equally devastating no matter the doc. Hugs.
