One of my favorite shows was Bewitched. I would pray and ask God to make me magic like Samantha.

I love Endora, how when Samantha was vaccuuming, Endora would pop in and say, "Oh what drudgery! Lets fly to Paris for lunch."

RaeRae - can you wiggle your nose like Samantha? or did you just try to blink like Jeanne in "I dream of Jeanne"

Guilty of both!!!!

Blackberry 5-3062 here.

I remember watching Bonanza and Maverick on Sunday nights with my mom. I learned to love the bad boys at an early age !

Mayberry, My Friend Flicka, Johnny Quest, Underdog, yes I remember them all !~

And popcorn my dad made on the stove.

As much as I try - I can never make that popcorn on the stove taste as good as it did when my Mom made it on the stove.

Do you remember going to the movie with a big brown paper bag filled with popcorn? My Dad was in the Army & worked part-time at the Movie House (as he use to call it) and they would let his kids go watch the movies & my Mom would pop a big batch of popcorn put in a brown paper bag for us to eat while we watch a double feature - Disney's New Releases - Like the Computer Who wore Tennis Shoes & Blackbeard's Ghost!

Dean Jones - my first "crush" on a movie star & a older man - I was doomed from the start!!

Does anyone remember a short lived TV show called "Then came Bronson"?

It was about this guy who drifted around on his harley with a sleeping bag and never combed his hair.

I had a huge crush on him as a kid.

The black and white reminds me of a couple of years ago, my boys (now ages 6 & 7) and I were looking at old photos of my family.

My oldest asked me when did I turn "color"? He asked how long I stayed "black and white" (like in the pictures with my brother and sisters)!!

I'm ONLY 41!!!

Thanks for the 'memory' post!

This thread makes me smile every time I read it.

Was I the only one whose heart skipped a beat every time I saw Troy Donahue? He wasn't a great actor, couldn't sing, appeared in only mediocre movies....but those eyes!!

He put the "hunka" in "Hunka Hunka Burnin' Love"

Oh lordy, I went looking for a picture to post here and see that poor Troy was an addict...read it and weep.

I always liked the westerns because I liked to wathc the horses. Rawhide was good and one of the first movies my parents took me to as a kid was "how the West was won."

good stuff.

And while it was b4 my time, Gone with the Wind is a Masterpiece as is Dr. Zivhago and Lawrence of Arabia.

OH Elana, I loved the westerns & horses too. And when someone got shot and the horse fell down, I would cry because I thought the horse was hurt!

We had a local television show here called Duane Ellett and Floppy. Floppy was this goofy dog puppet... but he was wonderful ! The show came on at noontime every day- a bit of news and then those glorious cartoons.

The day that John F. Kennedy was killed is forever etched in my mind - I ran to my mom and asked why someone killed our president, and when were the cartoons coming back on? (I was 4...)
