A friend of mine tried to commit suicide last night, his daughter and grandson found him this morning, Fathers Day. He's a man who never got over his divorce, I talked to him often, and we understand each other. The last time we talked was about 3 weeks ago, and I noticed he didn't seem to want to talk, I figured he was trying to blow me off. Haven't heard from him since, I feel so badly that I didn't call him.
He told me a while ago that if anything happened to his dog, he may as well be gone, too. Well, the dog got hit by a truck and died the day before my friend tried to take his own life by swallowing a bottle of pills.
It's so sad to hear this, it just breaks my heart. I feel like I'm so darn busy feeling sorry for myself and the state of my life since ah left, that I'm not paying attention to those that I should. Awhile ago, I thought of dating this man, he really is a good guy and just seems to have been treated very badly by some in his life. I just can't seem to get it through my very thick head that ah will never be back.
I would appreciate prayers for mjpaao's good friend.
