Smile opened up at rehab

Finally! My daugher opened up about the rape, described every detail she could remember, the abuse, the way she felt and how she feels now "that noone good would ever want her" She also opened up about how she always felt looked down to in school as she was in special classes, tutoring, couldn't read well etc. Her counselor said she took the floor for over an hour. When she was done, there was only one dry eye--one of the young men in the room. Two other cams over and told her they were sorry that happened to her and they wouldn't think less of her as person if they were to meet her in the real word. She said "Mom, I can finally breathe. I feel so good."

Feels good to post something good for a change.

caileesnana,
Sounds like she had a breakthrough!
Hopefully, now she can put it all behind her, and move on....

That's darn good news, she can only feel lighter....

It's amazing how letting it all out leads to change and growth. She is going to deal with the emotions now and will get stronger and stronger!
I am happy for her.
