Dakota UPDATE May 10th
Dakota had chemo yesterday and she has no nurafillers (sp?) to fight infection .. she has a sore on her toe that appears to be infected ... so they gave her an iv antibiotic then and there and prescribed her some for home ... she is highly susceptible to various kinds of infections at this point and time (and of course this makes me a nervous wreck and consumed with worry) the biggest concern they have is infection because it will go into her blood stream so we are watch diligently for fever ... And she also is an anemic
Please keep her lifted up in prayer -
God Bless,

Wascally
Dakota has 6 more weeks of chemo at the rate of once a week ... then 3 more months at once every three weeks.
Thank you all for your prayers .. I cannot tell you how much it means to me. I am forever grateful to each and everyone of you.

Nyte Passion:
Thank you for the update. Being a diabetic with neurpathy in my feet and lower legs (no feeling and slow healing) I am on the watch for new treatments of wounds etc.
It seems they have been doing this for about 12 years now in New Zealand and a Dr at Univ of Wisconsin is now launching an intensive study here in the states after trying it on 6 of her worst diabetics that were looking at amputation.........none of the antibiotics had worked.
She cleaned and debried the wound and then put a layer of HONEY on the wound and covered it. Bandage was changed daily and within a week wound (that no one could get to heal) was healing. It seems that the acidic level of the honey KILLS all the bacteria in the wound, thus allowing those with low immune or no immune systems to heal. All 6 have healed wounds and none had to have amputation.
New Zealand has had great results with hard to heal leg and foot wounds with using honey.
I have very thin skin on my lower legs from various health problems and anytime I get a scrape even it can take forever to heal. A day after I read about this, I scraped my right leg pretty bad. Bad enough it would have taken at least a month to heal (based on previus experience). So, this time I cleaned it good and put honey on it and covered it. Changed the bandage the next day, and by the following day it was looking so good didn't put a bandage on it. 6 days and it was healed.

That's just 3 sites of many when a 'google' search is done under "honey and non healing wounds."
I post this so that others who may run across this type of wound has more info.
Thanks again for the update on Dakota.
Love and hugs,
