so much for the compliment !?!

My sister told her daughter that my mom likes to see her shoes by the door when she wakes up . Well right after a couple weeks clean with meetings my niece doesn't come home and I see the phone number from her job on the phone !! I guess the compliment / words of encouragement weren't good enough ! shes right back at it again .

sorry chinup, relapses are so common, try not to have any high expectations, being addicted is a very hard habit to kick, i'm praying for your neice to find her way soon, also praying for you and the rest of your family.

I'm sorry too!
I used to look for my daughters' shoes to be at the bottom of the stairs also. I knew she was home.
Don't give up on her.
Will say prayers for her and your family.

Saying prayers that she will learn something she needs to know from this time back out and reach for recovery again soon. Hugs

It isn't personal..... but it sure feels that way. As the mom of 2 addicts, I can only say that addiction is not about me, nor about how much my kids love me... it is all about them. I can get in the way... and get hurt (and sometimes, even hurt them!); or I can get OUT of the way and let God/the universe/higher power lead them where they need to go.

((hugs))

I too used to look for shoes at the door. And I know the "kick in the stomach" feeling of seeing the empty space where the shoes are not.

Sending prayers for all who see no shoes today and for those who wear them.

Hugs
