Interview today... Prayers please
Interview today... Prayers please
Hey all for those of you that don't know I have an interview today at 1PM for office manager at the office I currently work at. It's a new position here and my director approached me about it a couple of weeks ago. She would love for me to get it but its not her decision soley, she has to talk it over with another director. I don't know the other director well she has a program opening up at my office. We have spoken occasionally and she actually was my secret santa during christmas. I'm a little nervous but not letting it get the best of me yet. I am going on my lunch break in a few minutes and when I get back I will have the interview. So if you can please send me positive thoughts, prayers right now.
Thanks,
Jewel
Thanks,
Jewel
i'm praying jewelz i kind of got a feeling that you are gonna be just fine. you've got us and your boss in your corner. try not to be too nervous, it might show. just try to take a few breaths before you go in and just relax, youre not losing anything only something to gain.
whew.... I got the interview done. Boy was I nervous... one thing I would like to say to anyone who has an interview make sure you are not holding anything. I brought a pen in with me and god I kept fidgeting like crazy with my hands under the table and normally thats not me.
But it went well, my director said I did very well and mentioned quietly afterwards that they ( directors ) need to discuss salary and its probably a done deal.
Still keeping my fingers crossed!

Wonderful!!! What a great opportunity for you.
I heard you should hold a tissue because palms tend to get sweaty when you're nervous and a sweaty palm is not pleasant when hand shaking.

Positives coming from here! Pray you get it!
When you go to an interview the hard part is really over (landing the interview can be the hardest job!).
I listen at an interview and answer questions directly.. and the one question I try to have answered in my own mind is how I will benefit the company by getting this position! If they don't ask it, I offer it.
At the end of an interview if I want the job, I ASK FOR IT. I tell them, "I want this job. Thank you for taking the time to interview me." and I send the interviewers a hand written note thanking them for their time the next day. Keeps ME in front of them.
If I am nervous at an interview I SAY SO (one time). No matter the level of my terror I look my interviewers in the eye and act like I am the most competant and confident person they will ever meet (even when I am crumbling rubber knees inside!)
So far I have only been interviewed twice and NOT been offered the job.. I have been offered everything from locomotive mechanic and train conductor (freight) to Federal Hiway administration real property supervisor.. to brood mare manager on a horse farm.
Each time I figured I was not going to get the offer but I did! I ended up turning down a lot of offers which seems sort of strange. A lot of the jobs I didn't even really have the skills to do at the first but I knew I could do them if pointed in the right direction.
My favorites that I did were dairy farming and bridge design (Civil engineering).
I will keep my fingers crossed for you Jewelz!!! sending up good words to my HP!!!!
