Buy back Xbox 360?

My AH is in rehab and I am having a moment that is very unclear-

He pawned his XBOX 360 that we bought with our wedding money before he entered rehab. He used the money to buy drugs. He wants me to buy it back because he is not in town and he doesn't have a way to buy it back...

Do I do it or not? is it enabling or not?

In a way I feel like I should because he isn't here to do it himself and we bought it with our wedding money and in another way- I don't care if he gets it back becasue it could just be pawned again when he gets out of rehab.

Thoughts?

His Mom talked about buying it back for his birthday present, but I also think that is probably cleaning up the mess he left behind...

let it go...
He has to endure the pain of having to rebuy it all over again and remembering why he doesnt have one.

Nope leave it there. Now its not coming out of your wedding $ its coming out of your pocket and I am sure u could put that money towards something else. Treat yourself to something nice. He can worry about that at a later time.

LEAVE IT...unless you want it for you. That's one of the number one rules I've learned from Nar-anon--don't cause a crisis, but don't prevent one, either.

Do you play the Xbox ?..if not

The things you do instead of consentrading on your recvoery.
What's more important a box or a life ?

What the who...
Reminds me of a story i read in the AA Book.
A dortor was telling his wife to bring him work everyday.
My god, she did it too...being a good wife and all.
However, the doctor was locked up in the phyco ward at the time.lol
He later said something in this manner...
I wonder who's sicker ?

i agree with the others, if you are not interesting in it for yourself, let him worry about how he's gonna get it, maybe he won't be so quick to pawn it the next time. sorry to hear about that.

Do you want it?
Do you use it?

If you bought it back could you sell it for more then the buy back?

A wedding ring, a high school or college ring... things that are tough to replace, I would think about getting back. A Xbox is just a thing of regular value.

Oh good grief, he's in rehab and worrying about an Xbox??? Leave it....
IMHO that is just plain selfish, I would be embarresed if I did that...
It's not "Your" job to fix his foolish mistakes....

Like that others said, unless you want it for you, leave it...

I don't know my GF pawned every piece of jews i got her.
It has sentimental values to me too....but I'm going to retrieve it.
And I'm not so quick to go buy her another diamond ring
and I havn't.... old freanken will. I learned my lesson.

She's not stupid enough to pawn my guitars when i was at work
cuz..that would had been the end of this relationship.
But i bet ya...she paced back and forth and thought about it.lol

I do buy her flowers every so often tho.

Ditto to what my twinnie said. A huge NO from my seat.

Hands off the addict, hands off their recovery, hands off their consequences....I just added that because it fits.

Did I say NO? NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO.

Phewwww, thanks, I needed that.

Do a 180 and walk away from that 360. Its his mess, his problem and that is something he was willing to risk loosing for his hit. Let him lose it and fix his mistakes. Oh BTW i want to say you must be a nice lady allowing him to spend your wedding money on a xbox 360 but really he should have his butt kicked for doing it. Let it alone and let him clean up his mess.

My as pawned his playstation 2 game when he briefly lived with a codie girlfriend .I had no idea. Not knowing this we gave him an old TV from our house, and when we got a phone call from the girlfriend that he needed to go to rehab immediately we found the old TV in the back of his car. He was trying to sell that too, but no one wanted it. LOL

Like sunflower said, let him get it himself.
It's kind of funny that wedding money was not spent on something you both could enjoy.
