bulimia and not care about body image?
Bulimia is characterized by obsessive thoughts about food and a compulsion to binge and purge. My daughter suffers from bulimia and I was anorexic when I was young and had a form of bulimia where instead of vomiting I was what is called a spitter. I can definitely tell you that I was obsessed with weight and with food. It was my whole life for a long time. Marle
Put simply, "No".... But it's "Never" that simple...
Bulimia isn't about eating, it's something deeper
or about control, etc. but weight obsession and eating
are in there somewhere...
You might also want to look at www.somethingfishy.org
a lot of really good information there..
btw, it doesn't sound wierd.

It's definitely possible to not have those symptoms, but to still engage in behaviors as a form of purging feelings. I am in recovery for anorexia and have been exposed to many different forms of eating disorders over my years of inpatient treatments.
What is not in dispute is how easily it can ruin and wreak havoc on a life. Bulimia ruins teeth, skin, nails- not to mention the extreme internal damage it does.

Bulemia can be about control. You cant control your surroundings so you control what you take in, or keep in your body (its subconscious though)
Also, when stressed when life is full of chaos your way of dealing is perging. When you perge your body sets off endorphins and for a few minutes you feel better.
I was anorexic for years but didnt know it, it was the same idea. Your body goes into emergency mode and you get weird energy spurts and feel better temporarily
