Something I thought of after I posted here, Teach, and that is that I too have lost many people who were important and loved in my life.

Although my life has never been the same without them, my life and the world is a better place because of the time I had with them and for that I will always be grateful.

Holding you in my thoughts and prayers as you grieve and remember this dear friend.

Hugs

So sorry to hear about your dear friend. Just wanted to add my prayers and support. He sounded like a great friend, and confidant.
Blessings to all who loved and knew him.

Dear Teach - we all or indebted to people who treasure history especially places where we walk - so fascinating - I like to think about who walked where I am walking - I like Dick's nickname "Historian of the Point".

Thank you all for your loving thoughts and prayers.

I went and saw Betty this evening when I got home. She is still in a bit of shock; it all happened so quickly. An emergency surgery for a surprise finding of an angurism; he never woke up and had a multitude of complications, including a stroke. Then, he passed away.

Betty is relieved that he didn't suffer. I am grateful for that too.
She's worried about have to leave her home. Dick built it. It overlooks the bay, and it's just lovely! I do hope and pray that she will not have to loose it. She has no children, and is now alone...

She is not having a service. And because she's such a quiet person, she asked me to tell others not to call. She is accepting emails though. She's just afraid of crying in front of others. It's so sad. But, she knows she can call upon me for any help she may need. And she knows that she is loved.

Thank you all again for your prayers for my friend...And Ann, you are indeed correct...the world is a better place because he was here.

Just one last story about him...
When I first got divorced, I hybernated at home for a few years. When I was ready to come out to play again, it was Dick and Betty who always saved a seat at their table for me. They made sure that I felt accepted, being a single woman this time around. It helped so much... And I will always be grateful to them.

Shalom!

Teach,
I'm so sorry about the loss of your friend and neighbor. May God bless the family. I'm sure you have been just as good a friend to them and you will be there for his wife during a very stressful time. I'm glad they have you.

Sorry to hear about your loss. How wonderful that you had someone like him in your life... I hope that you and his wife are able to be a source of comfort and support to one another.

You're a special person, and I'm sure he is better for knowing you as well.

Hugs
