Halfway House Is 125 Per Week!!!!!
We Are Checking Halfway Houses And The First One Is 125 Per Week Btween 500 And 625 A Month. Is This Close To The Norm. Too Much Too Little. Anyone Have Any Experience In This
the one my daughter was in was $1200 a month, but included 3 nights a week of group therapy, daily onsite aa meetings, a gym, free breakfast, good public transportation and job ops near, safe neighborhood, and a monthly doc/psychiatrist appt for med check. and random drug testing. 3 month mandatory stay, sliding scale payments after that if she qualified.
the cheapest one we found was $480 a month, and it was not too nice with no services - just a room and aa 3 times a week. the most expensive we found was $3200 (yes, a month) and it was just too much to even consider.
we're in an urban area, so used to higher prices?
hope this helps. k

Both my kids paid in the 300 - 350/month range. That included toilet paper, toothepaste, dish washing and laundry soaps, a dishwasher and washing machine access.
Sharing a 2 bedroom apartment with another person would have cost even more - without the free toitletries.
This was in 2005.

My AS paid $164 per week, and had to buy his own personal care items. That's a good price compared to what an apt would cost here with utilities. Three meals a day plus bag lunches to take to work. He is in another program right now that is funded by the county/state and pays less than half of the other place. He has free access to a kitchen, a counselor and rides to outside meetings too. The term to stay is short, but he can save some $ while there and then go to his other house.
i remembered, my husband went to treatment through the vets. admistration, they have a good program for vets and family, if any one is able and want to check into that. i think that they also have placements or do referals, not sure but thats how my husband got in this last time.
I don't know where you live, but here in SC I found one that is FREE for men. An 8 week program, and Christian centered training. They learn coping skills and aparantly it has a very high success rate.
I just bet if you ask around the AA members, they might know of a similar place.

Xabf paid $125/week. That included laundry, one meal per day, counceling, toiletries, etc. And he was required to keep a job in order to stay there. So, whatever he made from the job went directly to them, and he got what was left over to pay for other things.
Mr. Moose and I are paying $320 for the Sober House for oldest son.
Plus a $100 deposit, in case something should need replacing......
BUT, it's not in the burbs, it's in the city,
and not, in a too nice part of town....
