Job Woes
Job Woes
If I wasn't already crying, I'd have to laugh..
Well..the job I accepted fell through..Long story short, my contracting company shafted me...Somehow in their negotiations with the client on the rate (which should have been a done deal BEFORE I even interviewed), they messed it up and I lost the job.
The client went with someone else at a lower rate...
So now I'm going to go back to the other company to see if that job is available and if not, start over again.
I am not a very happy camper today and I'm having a hard time not crying...
This job searching is not fun...It's been almost 8 months..
I'm finding out there are a lot of people with NO Intergrity in the IT tech market...
I guess it shouldn't surprise me since this is what the 2nd or 3rd time this has happened..
Thanks for letting me vent.

No integrity in the recruitment field either.
Next time, perhaps check that the deal's been done on the rate prior to the interview, or even at the interview? Also, I always told my candidates not to resign/turn down anything else until the job they wanted was totally in the bag.
(((hugs)))

RATS about sums it up!!
I'm going to join you in the whole decision to laugh. My job has been seriously messed for about 2 years - then for the last 6 months it's been on the line, then I accepted it was gone and today in my line managers words 'the table has been up-ended.'
I get up - look for opportunities, take all that I find then go to bed grateful we still have a roof!!

No intergrity in the real estate industry either I must say.
Something very similiar happened to me several years ago
with something I thought was a done deal. I guess I need
to consider what done really means...
Sorry Minx, I know this was a relief for you or should have been....
maybe the best is really yet to come.

I know there is a silver lining...
I have contacts which I didn't have 8 months ago..
I called the other contracting company (who I believe actually has integrity)..
The other job has not been filled..she has a final interview today so he is going back for me to see if it's open..
if not he says there are some other jobs that I'm a great fit..
It's hard but I'm doing the right thing which is making those calls..even if I am not feeling it..
but that's recovery, isn't it..

Wanna try the hollywood biz? *lmao* When I was involved in that stuff the word was that it's not a deal until the ink has dried, and not turned invisible in 24hours.
We're all here for ya Minx. There's more jobs waiting for you. After the next one you get there will be another one and then another. Oh yeah, 8 months is not bad at all in your field, me thinks you're doing just fine.
