offer #1

It's decision time...

I am getting a formal offer from one of the companies today..

I have a second interview also today and I suspect the other company (that I interviewed with me on Friday) is strongly interested...

I'm stressed..think I'm going to go get a massage today and let my higher power take over.

Minx, I love how you work your program. Doing something good for you when you feel stressed is wonderful. Me, with my obsessive, workaholic personality would be tempted to accept _both_ jobs

Good luck, Minx. I did the massage thing Friday and it helped enormously with some issues I was grappling with re the divorce. I love that my higher power is always suggesting those massages. ;-)

good for you - massage can sometimes clear the mind. let your HP and inner voice lead you to the job for you. and if it doesn't work out - at least you know the pond isn't dry - you ARE wanted by many! good luck!

Ooooohhhh. How exciting!

Listen to your inner voice, not the chatter, and you'll be fine.

Accept #1 right away. Tell #2 you will think it over for 2 weeks and then let them know. Work at #1 those two weeks, get there a little early, stay a little late, take _everybody_ out to lunch. In those two weeks you will find out how well #1 fits in with _your_ long term goals.

If you still like #1 after their two week trial you call #2 and say "thanx but no thanx".

If you find #1 to be yuk after their two week trial you tell them politely that the position is incompatible and go for #2.

Now company number 2 is coming up somewhat on their salary.

Company number 3 hasn't given me a call yet (and they asked me to keep them in the loop about the offers).

Seems everything is going your Minx...
Can't think of anyone who has worked harder and is more deserving.
It seems to me that #3 is the position you really want...
perhaps that one will come to fruition given this recent request
from them.

So here's the deal.

I have firm offers from company one and two..Company three will tell me today whether it is a go or no go decision.

Company number 3 just started interviewing candidates overall so they may not be ready to make a decision.

I should have all the information I need by the eod to pick one.

Hey there Minx You're gonna do just fine. All us codies got confidence in you, so take a deep breath and let all that stress just slide right outta you.

Hey Minx,

That is so fabulous and I'm really happy you're in such a great position of choice.

One thing I've only recently learned in decision-making situations is to give myself permission to not decide anything immediately -- that there's no rule saying I need to decide something immediately. Maybe you'll know your heart by the end of the day, but it is perfectly okay to ask them to wait till Friday or Monday (or whenever) to give them your decision.

When I'm hiring, and I know I want a particular candidate, waiting a reasonable time for an answer never puts me off.
