OT .... Got a job!

Smiles and good cheer abound at my house today ... after doing temporary work for the past 18 months since being laid off on 12/04, I finally got a job. To say I was getting discouraged about finding a job is an understatement, but I kept plugging along putting one foot in front of the other, just like I handle all other situations in my life. As long as I'm moving forward I am making progress!

I hate temporary work, I hate being at the whim of an agency, being a number and just another worker.

This job is everything I wanted. Creating a job from scratch, working with very nice folks, a team atmosphere, no ego's etc. The hours are flexible so I can take care of "family" stuff if I need to and then go to work.

The pay is more than what I was making (they gave me what I asked for with no negotiation), benefits, 401K and liberal vacation time. I start tomorrow ..... and I would be remiss if I did not THANK GOD for he placed this job in my lap from out of nowhere!

congrats judy! i started out with temp agencies and while there were some drawbacks, the variety and learning experiences helped me in the long run. it is good to know you'll be in one place and able to "form" the position.

No doubt that the learning experiences of temping were good, that was one of the reasons I did it. To keep up the skills I had and to learn new ones. That is the only good thing about temping!

Hey ..... I'm not crabby !!!!

I told you Patty, I have two puppy people coming by on Saturday to pick up the new additions to their families! I am really sorry, it just isn't going to work this time around and 1/2 between myself and Jazz would be around Cape May, NJ and I'll be damned if I'm going to drive down the Garden State Parkway to a "beach" town on 4th of July weekend! I may, just may, reach my finally destination by Monday sometime!

You guys have a great time ..... and please, no "ASpouse" jokes OK?

Congrats on teh new job. I am sure your patience was wearing during this long ordeal. Yes, I don't like to be at teh whim of an agency, plus there are usually very limited or no benes either.

I hope you are very happy in this new job. God has a plan for each of us!!!
