OT - Phew, it's hot!!

I'm in Phoenix - arrived Saturday evening and I am having a wonderful time. Minx is a total sweetie and I am having great fun getting to know her IRL. Off to do some shopping today and see the sights of Phoenix.

And Sarah/Patty - didn't meet any pilots, but was sitting next to a very tasty Norwegian guy on the plane from Heathrow. Can think of worse ways to pass an 11 hour flight.........

Welcome to Merika minnie Glad you're having a good time. If you look out West and wave you'll see me waving back from Las Vegas. Enjoy the heat, feel free to bottle it and take some home, we have _lots_ to share

Mike

But Minnie...

It's a dry heat *LOL* hahahahahaha

You can tell that to a turkey in the oven on Thanksgiving but as far as I am concerned..heat is heat.

glad you made it to the USA safe and are in minx's capable hands.

it's hot in arizona, but it'll probably be muggy & hot in the dc area - that's not a good combination unless you like saunas and continual bad hair days!

enjoy, enjoy the lovely southwest!

Heat? We don't have heat. Lol.

Actually, I don't mind it. I don't have to be out in it much at all if I don't want, so I've been very careful. I've not even been too affected by jetlag, which is relief.

I'll be back with further installements.....

Yeah. It really is funny how many people don't really understand that statement. I'll take a dry 100 degree day over a muggy 90 degree day any day of my life. Around here, it gets so darn humid that you can't stand to be out in it. You sweat just sitting in a chair. With a dry heat, at least you can breathe (in fact, I've heard that some doctors recommend that sort of thing for people with breathing problems).

Welcome to this side of the pond. I hope you enjoy your stay.

Plus it wreaks havoc on us curly-haired gals. Turns our best "dos" into "fros." Speaking of "fros," I'm sporting one today. And boy is it BIG!

a "fro" - how funny, but then again....not so funny when I'm sporting one too! Thank goodness for hair long enough for a ponytail!

Haha... I can relate. I'm a curly haired gal.

Two days until it is officially summer here in the Pacific Northwest. Right now it is 41* degrees out. WTF? Any heat would be appreciated. I'm sitting here with my coat on. It's summer for crying out loud. I refuse to build a fire. Stubborn? Yes.

Yeah, but even with a ponytail, it just doesn't work for a guy with long hair when he's got wings on either side.

I have to put my hair in a ponytail, throw on a hat, and then tuck my little ringlet-curled wings up under my hat just to look halfway presentable on a day like today. I guess it's time for another haircut.

Everything comes back into style. I think it's high time for "wings" to resurface.

Now, for frizz control, you mousse the heck out of it and separate the hair into small sections and twist it up to the roots. Then you let it air dry, and viola--no frizz, just crunchy ringlets.

I learned this trick by watching Nick Erojo, the hairdresser on TLC's "What NOT to Wear." Love that show. And boy, would they have a field day with me....Both for the "fro" and my clothes.

You think it's hot in Phoenix ....

... c'mon down to Yuma where I live. It's 10 degrees hotter here than the state capital!! I was in Phoenix this past weekend and found it hot, but at least I didn't have to suffer with that blast of hot wind coming from the south! Dry heat my foot - it was 115 degrees yesterday and hot is hot. I just got my first electric bill for the house - I won't even tell you how high that was!!!

Sounds like a good idea, but that's way too much work for someone who usually rolls out of bed about 20 minutes after he was supposed to leave for work.

An angel... no. I just try to do what I can with what I've got.

That's where flex time comes in handy...it allows a gal ample time in the morning to control an unruly "fro."

And having once been called "rats nest" and "frizzle frazz" in high school, I've searched the globe for solutions. Can you say "ionic hair straightening?"
