Mr. C., I can relate to what you described last night as I have felt that before too. BTW, I love that song!
Yeah, there is a sadness for "what could have been" or what was but no longer is. I totally believe you can still love someone but not be able to be with them because it is just so toxic.

I am so glad to hear your tone here.... sounds very good.
I agree with what you said...they do stay in our heart.
But eventually (still working on this myself) it will become
just a fond memory and someone new will fill that
place in our heart that once was theirs.

I know it hurts but my bet is that you will find that cutting that last thread is going to help your healing not hinder it.
I have been divorced twice and it took along time to get over the what ifs... but it will come and today I can tell you have fond memories of both of them... I just could not live with there decisions.

Mr. C, Ya got my attention on that Step 13, thought you were going to confess that you were involved in the AA "NO,NO" (smile).
