You must be joking
*Shrugs*
Doh!
And you are surprised, why?
*Sigh*

Oops. Maybe not. I have learnt that a considered answer it better than posting my first thought.

As I was peeking around the other forums here earlier, I noticed
that no one else seems to be having this issue as we in F&F are.
I guess it's because we are codies and have to take everything to
a whole different level...just an observation

As I said I think the whole idea behind it initially was to get "some of us"
to play nicer....

Me thinks it's just that their sense of humor isn't as developed as it gets living with an A. They're probably thinking we're laughing at them

The thank you button was requested by a few members. I've used it on other forums and it is usually used to show someone that you read their post and appreciated it. I haven't seen anyone upset by it and didn't anticipate that there might be a problem. It was only installed to show someone that you read and appreciated their post. I have a problem coming up with words to say and for me it something that would be useful to let someone know I care and that I read the thread.

Here are the options.

We can disable a forum so it is not used in that forum.
We can set it so it is only used to thank the thread starter.

There is not an option in the settings to disable the profile count, but I can look into that and see if it can be edited.

It could be useful if we use it responsibly for the right reasons. If not we can turn it off.

Well ya know we can't thank you if you don't post. You're just getting a kick out of tempting everybody to thank you by posting that you don't want to be thanked. That's reverse psychology at it's best

I think the counter is really distracting and annoying. I have noticed that with that there I get sidetracked more easily when I'm reading.

I did have some fun with the thanks button because I wanted to test it and try it out, but I did like it better before that button got put on there.
