Talking Yippppeeeeee!!!

D's probabtion period is going to finish early!! He was employed on a probationary period till Sept but he got told today they may as well tie things up as they know they will take him on!!

Oh and they will sponsor his Open Uni course....

This is with them knowing an awful lot - he was very honest and open.

As far as I'm concerned his efforts at work are walking the walk - with bloomin' great brass knobs on!

Now THAT is excellent news. Do you think we'll get in trouble? I reckon our giddiness will affect the whole of the North of England!

We're celebrating with curry and the first series of 'waiting for god'!!

I'm happy, I knew things were going well but I think big reinforcement like this matters. When I think back to this time last year, or even in november - it's mind boggling what he's achieved.

You know what - he's earned it!! For a bloke that doesn't read about alcohol stuff, for a guy who says he hates self examination, all I know is he's done enough to turn his life round. He says he doesn't want the support or to look at it but he went for every session asked at a time when that really took something. For someone intensly private he sat in his interview and told them he's being treated for depression, told them when he had his appointments and went, told them he doesn't drink and told them he likes having money and time without feeling ill now (not much room for guess work there!).

Is there a saying that's opposite of 'quacking'? you know when someone does NOT talk the talk but does walk the walk!!

In case you didn't notice I'm proud of him.....

Eq? Will you give D a secret hug from me? You know, give a hug as normal but know it was from me really. He is an amzing human being and I am honoured to have "known" him through you.

Same goes for you too, you old rat bag.

I will - but you know I give big ol' grand bear hugs!!

I suppose this doesn't seem like such a biggy - but when a very successful employer takes on a person who had been dismissed, off sick for a month, unemployed for 3 months, treated for depression and definate signs of past alcohol problems; when they take that risk but hedge it with a nine month probation - well I can't really imagine what it takes for them to unilaterally bring a permanent contract forward by this much.

In their opinion, face to face employers for over 50 yrs (literally) he is no risk.

Well another post of great news....
D has got to be feeling pretty darn good about himself right now.

But I do have a question... brass knobs?!?!? I didn't find it here:
