Actually, I regret calling this an OT thread. Because it isn't.

Some of you may think it's just a bunch of old cliquey members spaffing* about. But it's not. It's about friendships that have been forged out of adversity. It's about the fact that I would never have thought of doing anything on my own, particularly making a trip of 12,000 miles to meet people I have never seen before. So, it's about knowing I'll cope no matter what. It's about the fact that I have some spontaneity in my life. It's about choice. It's about taking opportunities. And fun. And laughter. And getting so giddy you can't sleep.

That's what my recovery is all about.

Don't look that up, Jazz. Or any mods, actually.

thank you for enlightening me - you're spot on (LOL) girl - i would have never dreamed of doing anything like this a year ago. i was too busy isolating, crawling in my little hole of sadness - only getting out to go to work and al-anon meetings. i'll probably be blubbering all over you guys that i'm meeting so you better have your raincoats and umbrella at the ready.

I'll be blubbering too, sweetie, so don't you worry. I can blame it on jetlag or something, though.....

OH MY GOSH! I just found this from my cell phone, and I made a point to get my self to a computer ASAP to comment!

Minnie, what about Texas???!!!! Everybody knows that when you make a trip to the US, you have to do Texas!!! It's because everyone thinks we really do wear cowboy hats and boots. You have to come see for yourself that we don't, but we really do talk funny. Hey, and we do have World Cup shooting events here where I live, but the last one was May 12th or something. I bet you weren't talking about that...

I want to come along though...

Cynay, you're going to have to get her a beak hat and flip-flops. Not even going to _try_ and explain that to her. And lots of water cuz she's from the land of high humidity. (not going to explain about bottled water either) and make sure she's not wearing metal bracelets cuz they'll get hot and burn her.

Mike
p.s. am a codie and making sure sensitive friends from across the pond don't get crisped in desert sun

OT - I think I'm going to wet my pants!!!
For a moment there, Minnie, I thought you were about to tell us you have a new man....But this is even better news. Can't wait to meet you!

TG: Richard is from Ft. Worth, Texas, and he used to wear a cowboy hat and spurs on his penny loafers when he was in high school. Penny loafers, you ask? It was a long time ago....

Bloody fabulous indeed!
Can I say bloody? The ex used to tell me it was cursing....

Well, I suppose now is a bloody bad time to begin worrying about saying words that are curse words..never stopped me before.

Chicken out? No way. Been really busy today, so had no chance to get on-line. And I am knackered - I think I was too excited to get much sleep last night.

Pant report? Slightly less chance of dampage, although this may change as the 17th gets closer.

And Eq - please refrain from posting pictures of your pulling pants. That's an overshare, if you ask me.
