I just wanted to say,, if you're out there, and you're lurking, please
don't hesitate,, join the family here at SR..
We would love to have you... Reading threads is great, but posting is really
great to.. So please sign up, and introduce yourself.... We're waiting for you..
You just can't imagine how much every person bring to the plate here.
Everyone has their "own" story, and everyone can offer alot to others that
are suffering. You will get alot of support, from posting, but you will also help alot of people by posting.. That's how it works,, support..
So,, Come on in.....
We'll leave the light on for you...

Good thing you left the light on, it's the only one I see right now. I've just been posting replys to all the messages I've been reading to get me through, think I'm the only one on-line right now. New to this, been trying the old "I can do this myself thing" for so long, and I think I'm finally figuring out - I can't. Smoking even as I type, can't seem to take that first step.

Good morning
Im "Im here now". Been lurking for a while. Finally yesterday I asked for my posting priviledges to be turned on. I live with my A husband. We have a 14yr son.
My younger brother is currently being charged with domestic violence on a person over 65 - he bit my mother a few months ago. He's been in & out of jail since then. The courts had on a restraining order that they've since stopped. His trial date is July 27
Ive been going to AlAnon since Oct 17. (well I had been an outsider at the meetings years ago). I started working the steps in March - just finished the Blueprint for Progress. Meet with my sponsor every Sat morn before the weekly f2f meeting.
Hoping to learn alot more from this message board - thank you

Welcome... I am in and out in spurts. Sometimes just reading everything is healing and at the same time overwelming (in a good way)
Other times you can't help but put your 2cents worth in or ask for help. you will always find help here and experience is the best teacher.

So glad you joined our big happy family.. We all tried to do the same old thing, for a very long time.. Trying to do it on our own.. It's best when we finally figure out that we just can't do that, it's to hard. We need help.. We are so happy you're here.

I am actually a "newer member" to this forum as well, I have posted on other forum for a long time, but I know the support here, and all over this forum is wonderful..
I have an addicted son. I have alot to learn. I have just contacted Al-anon last week actually, and found out when and where the meetings are, so I have yet to go.. So you see, I can learn from you, as much as you will learn from others. So thanks so much for joining, and sharing.. I really do love SR..

Welcome to the two new folks, and I would also add a welcome to the lurkers. I know from watching the 'people viewing' stats that the number who read this forum are greater than the number who post.
For those of you not yet comfortable in posting, read all you want. There's much comfort to be taken in knowing you're not alone in this. And when the time is right, and you really need someone/someplace to talk, we're here 24/7. That's how I came to this board. I needed to talk and it was the middle of the night. Thankfully, the internet is a patient beast and will stay up with you all night long if you need it.
Not all of us attend Al-Anon, for some of us, that program doesn't fit with our world. Many do, and find it to be useful. Whether you're in Al-anon or not, you will find this board open to you. We all travel different paths, but we are never alone.
