2nd Meeting Last Night

Went to my 2nd Al-Anon Meeting last night, this one was for Adult Children of Alcoholics. I guess what I got out of this one is that I am seeing that I do need help too. Stil at the resentment stage but not so much. My ABF went to his second meeting last night. I asked him if he got anything out of it and he said what he got out of it was not to dwell on the past. Well keep the prayers coming for the both of us.
Thank you all for the support, I feel like this forum helps me more than any of the meetings I have went to.

Prayers coming you way here too!

I totally know how your feeling and Im not saying that SR is not a GREAT place, In fact its only because of SR that I went to a meeting in the first place... and it took awhile before I could see the benefit of the Face to Face meetings... I did not like them at all at first

But I have to say, there is a BIG difference between internet support and the support and love and hugs I get in my face to face meetings. I discovered I needed both of them to get and stay sane.

Me, too - especially the hugs ((())). What has been great for me with SR is that I travel so much for my work that I can go wiggy if I don't have the support of meetings. In the last 2 months I've been in London, Germany and Italy and can't always find Al-Anon meetings (though I seem to always find open AA meetings LOL). Having SR to check in with kept me sane. Thanks!

Also, I noticed your location is now LA instead of Seattle. Did you move?

I'm so used to the Al-Anon system, where we don't discuss professions, so I tend to conduct myself here like I'm at a meeting. But I notice other people talk about it. A roundabout way of saying I work in the film/tv world.

Boy, you guys are observant! No, my home is in Los Angeles, and I now feel ok saying that. I had a little paranoia there for awhile. (AH)

Hey Denny -

Have you run across Vannoy S. in any of your Alanon circles there..She is the grandsponsor of my first sponsor and comes to our Phx meetings quite a bit.

She's had about 36 years of Alanon recovery and is quite a hoot..I know she sponsors some LA people as well..
