update on my mom
 

It's been a long time since I've posted anything. I actually was able to take a vacation, I just got back from a week long trip to Ireland. Boy did I need it!

Well, as for my mom, she is a month sober. She is slowly getting better. Still walking around with a walker but she is slowly gaining her strength back. I haven't seen her in about two weeks, since I was on vacation but next weekend my boyfriend and I will be going down there to visit for about three days. Things are getting better and now I just have to clean up the mess she left behind.

Thank you to everyone who said prayers for my mom and myself. You all were a wonderful support system through the hardest time for me. Thank you!!!!

It's so good to hear things are still improving. I'm glad you got a break too!!

Hi Jen. I'm glad you updated us. I've been where you are and you sound like you're mind is straight right now. You did mention that you have to go clean up the mess she left behind. I don't know what kind of mess she left but remember it's not YOUR mess. It's hers. Don't feel too much responsibility for it. It might overwhelm you.

I'll keep you all in my thoughts.

Hey there Jen! Well that's terrific news about your Mom! So glad you took a vacation as well, I'm thinking you really needed that one in a big huge way!!!!

Now you guys have a place to get away to a couple times a summer! This turned out great! Keep us posted on how she's doing... and you too!

oh jen - so good to read this post. i am especially glad to hear you were able to take a trip - well deserved! i will say a prayer that she continues to improve and stay sober.

Im so glad to hear that things are improving for you Jen... and Im sure you NEEDED that vacation.

Things will come together, just remember one day at a time and dont stress it too much on the "mess"
