Texasgirl - this is for you.
Texasgirl - this is for you.
I did'nt want this to get lost in the other thread you have going. So I hope it's okay that I have started this thread. I'm sure if it's not, the mods will remove it.
However, I have suggested to you before that you go back and read your old posts. There is alot to be learned from doing so. I do it myself with my own threads. It shows me my progress, my setbacks, different patterns and behaviors, etc.
Just from this year alone - here are some posts that YOU started that I feel you should read. It may just give you something to think about.

It is possible to live with an active alcoholic. I've met people in Alanon meetings that have done it for years. In the meetings they talk about themselves and what they have done for themselves so that even though they are with an active A, they still are having happy lives. The one thing they don't do is complain about living with an A. My point being is if you're going to willingly continue living with it you really don't have a right to complain about it.

That's right TomsGirl.....
If someone decides to eat that extra sundae they shouldn't complain
about their weight.
If someone stays at a job they hate they shouldn't burden others
and complain.
If you make a choice to do something, find a way to make it work.

It's up to you TG to make it work one way or another..
But if you stay, I'd strongly suggest getting a sponsor and working the steps..
Going to meetings..working on you..
There are plenty of people I know in Alanon that live with active Alcoholism. the more they work their Alanon program, the happier they are.
There is one Alanon member I know and greatly respect who has 15 years of Alanon..and her husband has been in jail for 4 years from his last DUI..
They are still married..he is working a program behind bars..
