Sneeky planning me....
I got D the day booked off work - his boss sounds lovely!! The dogs can be dog sat from Thurs night till Sunday night. We couldn't do Whitby but the surprise weekend at his parents is now sorted!! HE'S EARNED IT!!
I told his Mum what it as for (his 3 month mark) but it'll be up to D whether he chooses to openly celebrate that with them, neither they nor I would take that lead. I vowed to be his friend, as much as wife and lover - as his friend I think I will say to him it'd be a good opportunity to let him start taking control over how he wants them to view his decision to stop drinking.
I should add he's very close to his family and none of what's happened has been secret from them. I haven't broken any confidences to them.
