Merry Christmas and Happy New Year SR!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year SR!
Well friends,
it was a great Christmas. And 2006 is looking to be bright and beautiful.
For those without hope... I tell you this. One year ago my SO was killing himself thru destructive decisions and I was barely hanging on... not knowing how I truly felt because I was so wrapped up in his problems.
For those without recovery... I offer my prayers... for it was thru prayer that I found that my recovery was just as needed and as necessary to a healthy future as his quitting drinking.
For those without support... welcome. You have come to a place where there is always support, the support of those who live with and have lived with the disease of alcoholism affecting their loved ones.
And now a story of... well... a story.
Christmas eve we all went to church. Catholic church. My daughter has never been to a catholic church even though I was confirmed and raised Catholic she was raised Lutheran. The Priest is walking down the aisle and sprinkling holy water on everyone. My daughter gets some on her hand and turns to me and says.. whatever that stuff was, it landed on me, and if it starts to burn I am going to leave Mom....lol I laughed so hard. Guess you had to be there to see a 17 yr old out of her element.
May all my friends new and old, met and unmet enjoy the peace and hope of a new year.

They tell us in Al-anon that we can find serenity, whether the alcoholic is drinking or not. I didn't believe that a year ago, but I do now.
Lately, I am experiencing more and more happy days, even though my daughter still struggles with her addiction.
I am very thankful for all the blessings I have been given this year.
Seasons Greetings, and Happy new year.
