You are not alone

I have lived with my A for almost 5 yrs.I know the pain I have felt in the last few years has been the worse I have ever felt. I never knew what an alcoholic was. And believe my when you fall in love with an A you are in for a lot of different feelings. Ever notice while the A lies passed out anesthetized, the significant other goes through the years of his drinking....stark raving sober. I believed lies,expected miracles, had the police involved,wished he was dead or in jail,and I prayed that he gets home safely. Everyday I accept my A for what he is. And for the people that don't understand what it is like to live with an A, when they say "WHY DO YOU STAY WITH HIM?" my answer is.....I truly love him and I don't want anyone else. And until the day I'm ready to be alone.................

Wow. You have just summed up exactly what I feel - and have been going through. I have only read a few posts, but you all should see me I am crying like a baby!
