New man in my life..... wow!
New man in my life..... wow!
Well, Thanksgiving for me was full and overabundant with blessings. I told you all that I had decided to take my ex to the hospital for his angiogram. Well, let me tell you the ride up was full of so many emotions for both of us. And since he started seeing a therapist in addition to quitting the addictions.... this is someone I never met before.. but wow.
The angiogram went so so...they found a blockage to his heart and repaired it right then and there. We spent many many hours talking. And still more in the last few days. This man I see emerging is stronger, more sensitive, taking full responsibility for his actions and truly seeking a place for God in his life. wow.
Its funny now how much I look forward to talking to him. Hes showing a depth that alcoholism never allowed, a healing I had only been able to pray for.. and he did it all himself. I guess walking away was truly a blessing for us all.
So thanks for listening friends, and detachment with love truly does work when they are ready to get help. Each day now is a new step in a healthier future for him, and a cautiously optimistic one for me too.

ps.. we have a date for christmas eve services.. both of us walked away from the church many years ago.. and I cant think of anyone I would rather spend christmas eve with than him.
