Hi

I've just written in an email to a friend that at the weekend when my A was in full black mood, stoned out of her face and sitting saying nothing, not reacting to anything, but determinedly in the lounge so we could all see the sulk, that it was like being in the room with a.... (well, I said monkey, but what I meant was...) a ghost, a post-lobotomy patient, a body without a soul.

Less than a person.

Has anyone else thought this?

How can someone stand the pain of such an existance?

They drink.....to cope with the misery...they drink..,,which usually causes more misery.

Its a vicious cycle. Im sorry your going thru it. I am too, on a lesser degree asI dont see the drinking cus we dont live together.

But I do see the ghost....I use that term too. Lifeless soul. Wretched.

jane - i know exactly where you are coming from. my husband was like this - just a shell, robbed of his soul, there physically, but that is all. the person that i saw was not someone who i even knew. it's very hard to witness this.

Of course now I'm thinking that this person deserves more sympathy than I've been giving.

got to look after myself and the boys though.

just been round the second hand shops and I can get stuff to sit on, put pictures on, listen to the radio from and make me a cup of tea for waking up, all well within my budget. The fear's going.

Yes, the hole in the soul.

Just remember - you can't fill it.
