Can someone post the 12 steps of al-anon.
 

I was just wondering what they are. Is there an al-anon book? I do not have a sitter to go or I would so I will take what I can get.

You can find the 12 steps on this website plus literature..

There are multiple Alanon books (you might consider reading the Big Book of Alcoholism as well.)

Don't let a lack of babysitter prevent you from going to a meeting..many meetings offer free babysitting so call the local Alanon meeting and ask..

I will go to that site thank you. I do not let anyone watch my children. I am one of those over protective mothers. If I need one once in a while my neice will but other wise if they don't go I don't go. Lol

Just to clarify on the babysitting a bit more..

It is usually down the hall from the meetings and overseen by 2 Alanon members..

Usually just a group of kids playing for the hour that the meeting is going on..If something happened they would come get you..

do try to find a meeting with babysitting - the face to face time is worth it. this is a good place to come but a meeting would definitely be a plus for you!

I don't want to come off sounding mean but I do NOT let anyone watch my children so telling me to go where there is babysitting is not an option. Magichappens, thank you...that is exactly something that would be good for me in my situation. I wonder if our local library would carry al-anon tapes or cd's. I was going to try to go to al anon meeting while my kids were at school but there are none in my area at those times. Thanks for your replys

Soulcatcher, minx was just offering a suggestion for you as you indicated in the quoted portion above that you would go if you had a sitter.

It does help to go in person, but I am sure you can get some help out of the links and online info too.
