The police are now actively investigating the assault. They have some evidence they collected at the scene, as well as the rape kit. They are also following up on some of the things my daughter told them the night of the assault.
They have recommended that she go for counselling and I hope she will do that. The day after, she was already making excuses for the rapist: "well, since I was at the bar, whoever did this to me was probably drunk too". Counselling will help her to understand that nobody deserves to get raped, drunk or not.
The support I find here gives me strength. I can feel the understanding and love when I read your posts. My heart goes out to those who have suffered from rape.
