when his father unexpectedly dropped off $30 today to pay his music lesson.
What he meant........ he see's his fathers delivering the money as a sign of making ammends, following thru on his promise to pay the lesson, and that as his father has gone so far down the wrong path thru his addiction, that to get to the right path, he has to turn around and walk back that ugly path, make ammends, face the hurt he has caused, work hard to rebuild trust thereby turning that "wrong" path into the right path.
13 years old. My son. The Alateen. He has hope for his father.
I'm proud.

WHOA!! What amazing insight your son has.........at age 13!!! That's fantastic.
It's so great to hear about the kids and how they're not taking the disease personally, but rather are learning from it.
That's great news, FOB!
