can you offer a prayer...
 

I never did this but tonight I'm asking for prayers for my son.
He completed a 30 day rehab program, came home and has been in and out of relapse. He would attend 5 or six days of meetings then use.
Today I came home and he's gone. He seems to have given up on recovery and drove to the university where he experienced his heaviest drug use. He is also dually diagnosed and is seriously compromised when he uses.
I'm going to pray a lot tonight and will try to remember that he has a HP looking out for him but right now I am filled with fear and dread.

My thoughts and hopes go out to you and your son tonight.

I'm not huge on prayer.........but as a mother I can only guess at the pain you are in.......so tonight, I will pray.

I only hope you can find comfort in your thought that his HP is watching over him.

Something that gives me comfort, now that my daughter has moved away to attend college, is imagining loving, powerful guardian angels surrounding and protecting her. Whenever I feel that terrible anxiety in my gut, imagining guardian angels around her always gives me comfort.

Well, I was wrong and he returned. I thank you all from the bottom of my heart. I'm going to pray and reat now so that I can sort through what I feel. It's a mix of relief, fear, apprehension, and anger. My plan is to read some Alanon lit and see how I can shift all that to detachment. Not sure if I want to sigh or wrap my hands around his neck.....welll obviously I'm not at detachment yet.
