Speaker tapes

I have found these really useful. In fact, I have just got some more to put on my iRiver so that I can listen whilst I'm out for a bike ride in the morning. New recovery tool - get fit and listen to those who have gone before. Perfect!

Blanche D (and Blanche M - same person) is particularly good. They're are free to download, although you might consider a small contribution.

Mary Perl T is awesome as well..I was sad to hear she is no longer around..

If you want to hear some good AA speakers - Clancy I from California is amazing. I also heard him in person (and met him too) in Toronto..

Also Tom I from NC as well..

MINX1969...
"Hi..My name is clancy and I am an alcoholic." (smile)
No I didn't steal his name, as a child a neighbors boy was Clancy and I loved that name.
I used Clancy's tape and others to put me to sleep for years.
If you enjoy tapes you would love an article from the Grapevine for July 1944
writen by Fulton Oursler longtime senior editor for the Reader's Digest.
It can be found on www.aagrapevine.org be sure you have the date. The article is called "Charming is The Word for Alcholic", Last I checked cost $2.00. for 1 mo. on line.

Could not see myself in it, but could see hubby who never got into the program.
If you love Clancy I., you would love this. Gives goosebumps at least to me.
I was a "High bottom drunk" Thank God, or I woud be dead..
The Al-Anons that attend AA speaker meetings would love this also. So I am still Al-Anon here.
What I would like from you is the address for tapes. I would like a newer tape of Clancy I. I wonder if he is still at the "Midnight Mission" probably as helping gets in the blood. Thanks

My husband and his sponsor are both speakers. Both have been invited all over to speak, especially at rehab's and prisons. They seem to make an impression on the folks trying to recover. I'm proud of them.

Clancy,

On the website that Minnie posted there is a new talk by Clancy I (June 2005) in Sydney Australia..I haven't listened to him yet.

My great grand Alanon sponsor knows Clancy I. from the California group..she's been in Alanon for 36 years..I think Clancy I. sponsored her deceased husband or something like that..

Minx - thanks for the tip. I'm just on my way out to a meeting and I think I'll listen to Clancy I on the way.
