It is just awful. Sitting here in front of the TV in shock. I am a long way away from London, however all my business is conducted there, so I am thinking of my clients caught up in this. The emergency services have been heroes today.
Still trying to get in touch with my best buddy from school who I know went to London yesterday - don't know whether he was travelling back today from Kings Cross. Can't get hold of his wife either, who is 8 months pregnant, and I hope that is good news, otherwise she would be by the phone.
Bahookie - love your avatar too. Leaving for Mull on Saturday!!

I am across the sea from the UK but I am in shock also.
I cannot believe this has happened so close to home - I guess this is how all the people in the US felt after the 9/11 attacks
Where is this all going to end ??

Minnie - I hope you hear words from your friends soon.
My sister and Dad were on their way to NYC on 9/11 - i was so paniced - I didn't know where they were - their mobiles were off - I was frantic - they had taken off 1 hour before they had to turn back - it was about 4 hours later that I got the call from them to say they were back at dublin apt.

I had a sleepless night with my P so I've only just started reading the news.
I've been waiting for something like this to happen since the war in Iraaq.
My cousin went on his next tour to Iraaq last Monday and I'm always on tenterhooks until he comes home.
My brother travels through London everyday, he works for British Airways.
Haven't heard from him yet, but but then again he's man and probably won't think to let us know he's ok.
I can't ring him because he's not allowed his mobile on at work obviously.
My heart goes out to all the injured and their families.

While I was at the gym this morning (quite early) I was woken wide awake to the news on the many TV's across the gym of the attack in London. All I could think of was how it must have effected everyone there and remembered our own disaster on 9/11. My prayers go out to all in that area. God Bless......

My heart is breaking for everyone. I so vividly remember the frantic days after 9-11 (I'm a transplanted New Yorker, much family still there). And ... my old enemy is back...ANGER!
Ordinary people, going about their day...not soldiers or politicians...and in a second they become a casualty! Their lives and that of their entire family's changed...because of someone else's political and/or religious beliefs! The cowardlyness of the act--attacking the innocent--and in a sense, holding the entire world hostage in a grip of fear is just plain EVIL.
I can't believe the news today
Oh, I can't close my eyes
And make it go away
How long...
How long must we sing this song?
How long? How long...

....I remember....
I remember 9/11 like it was yesterday. I was on my way to work, and heard it on the radio. At first I thought it was some sort of joke...kind of reminiscent of "War of the Worlds." Then to my horror I realized it wasn't. I looked around at other people driving in their cars, and everybody had the same blank look of utter shock on their faces. Watching the towers collapse made the hair on my arms and the back of my neck stand on end. It was so eerie. We were glued to the TV all day.
Those of us here in the US know your pain, and our hearts go out to you. I am so deeply sorry that anyone has to go through this. Please be safe.
