What is the "Fog"
 

Hi everyone..

I know I have been away, Im doing heavy duty studying and will be for another few weeks... but I have a question.

At an AA meeting the term "I was in a Fog" came up... and for this person it was 2 years after not drinking and being in AA before the "Fog" lifted.... what is the fog, is it being the dry drunk? still in denial about all the issues? How long does it last? Just wondering

Yes, pretty much, the same behavior, thinking, actions, confusion as when drinking. It takes time coming out and we eventually do when we get honest with ourselves.

Seems to me getting honest with yourself is the hardest part and takes the longest?

Tell me what getting honest with yourself means to you?

I agree with Chy. Also, my AH was not drinking for several years before he started getting it together. I was told that it was not drinking but also not working the steps. It means he was doing the same sh*t, different day......only not drinking.

AA members tell me this themselves, the one who I know has recovered but he admits he is a minority.

He totally told me to protect myself from my ex cause she's not recovered yet and its all fog for now and told me to completly not bank anymore in her was his advice. This coming from an A !
