I believe in surrounding myself with people who treat me like a grown up capable of making my own decisions about my life.

I believe in treating other adults like grown ups capable of running their own lives.

I believe I deserve to be treated with respect.

I believe I should treat others with respect.

I believe that I am in charge of my life. If it is not going the way I want it to, I should not depend on someone else to change - I should change.

I believe that dying is not the worst possible thing that could happen to me. Not living is the worst possible thing.

I believe that I can do anything I want to do badly enough.

I believe work is important and that fun is just as important.

I believe that I'm not always good at a lot of things. But I am very good at trying.

I believe I am smart enough to decide what I want and strong enough to go get it.

I believe that feelings are not facts.

I believe what my sponsor often tells me, that "our perceptions are our reality".

I believe that hurt people hurt people.
