Guess I'm going to be double winner

I first posted here on Friday. My ABF and I didn't see each other until Sunday - my birthday. We talked and have decided once again to try and quit drinking together. I'm going to follow the advice I got here and go to Al non to deal with my codie issues and try AA to deal with my own drinking. I'm not sure what I'm in for. But I just turned 38 yesterday and want to make this the year I start to get better

I'm not sure what I'm in for
You're in for GOOD THINGS! I hope you'll continue to go with or without your bf...I suggest you make a pledge to yourself to try it for a period of time to give both AA and Al-anon a fair shot. One day at a time you can do it!

Good for you for such a wise decision!

Hello brdlvr2,
Missed your 1st posts, glad you found this site.
New beginnings are full of exciting and disconcerting moments aren't they!
Make time to reflect on them and learn.
It's a great start that you've made on your journey!
You're never too old, or too young, and a birthday is as good a time as any.

Happy Birthday!!!!!!!!

Take care
